1. The secret of efficiency: Low-temperature heat

Underfloor heating works through a network of high-resistance pipes installed under the floor through which water circulates. Unlike traditional systems that need to heat water to 70ºC, the underfloor heating in Bersife projects works at a low temperature (between 30ºC and 35ºC).

By combining this system with aerothermal equipment and the extreme insulation of our villas (many of them built under the Passivhaus standard), we achieve a drastic energy saving on the monthly bill. Furthermore, the heat distribution is perfect: heat naturally rises from the feet to the head, creating the ideal thermal gradient for the human body.

2. The importance of self-leveling mortar

Installing the pipes is only half the job. The true success of underfloor heating lies in how that installation is covered. This is where Bersife's construction experience makes the difference.

Instead of using traditional cements that can leave air bubbles (which act as insulators and block the heat), in projects like villa Truita we use self-leveling mortar. This specialized liquid wraps around the pipes perfectly, leaving no gaps.

Why is this step crucial?

• Extreme thermal conductivity: By completely embracing the pipe, the self-leveling mortar transfers heat to the floor immediately and uniformly. The house heats up much faster.
• Perfect planimetry: Being liquid, it levels itself, leaving a perfectly flat surface. This is vital in order to later install large-format continuous flooring, natural stone, or microcement with a flawless finish and no unevenness.

3. Heat in winter, coolness in summer

Another great advantage we offer our clients on the Costa Blanca is the reversibility of the system. The same underfloor heating that keeps the villa warm in January becomes underfloor cooling in August. By circulating cold water at around 15ºC, the floor absorbs the excess heat of the house, maintaining a cool and comfortable environment without drying out the air or generating annoying noise.

If you prefer wood, we use specific multilayer floorboards certified for underfloor heating that prevent deformation due to temperature changes.

2. Why does Bersife use self-leveling mortar instead of traditional cement?

‍Self-leveling mortar is a liquid material that completely envelops the heating pipes without leaving air bubbles. Since air is an insulator, eliminating these bubbles drastically increases thermal conductivity, making the system faster and more efficient. It also guarantees a perfectly level surface for the final finish.

3. Does underfloor heating take a long time to heat the house?

‍Underfloor heating has a high thermal inertia, which means it takes a little longer to reach the initial temperature than a radiator, but it maintains it for much longer.
